A GOSPEL REGGAE TALENT UNEARTHED – TUNASA

TUNASA, whose real name is Solomon Kwakye is a Ghanaian born Belgian, living in the city of Leuven in Belgium. TUNASA means ‘‘search and find’’ or ‘‘dig and take’’, (an inspiration from the Akan language).

TUNASA who drew his earlier inspiration of reggae music from the wailers-Bob Marley, Burning Spear, Uroy and Iroy, Peter Tosh, Steve Wander and James Brown and even had the opportunity to work with the Wailers group at Tuff and Anchor Recording Studio in Kingston and recorded an album through that in 1996 with the help of Aston Barrett (Family), never released this album due to his call to the ministry of God in 1997.

Upon this call, he became born again and accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Saviour. Since then, he’s allowed God to prepare him, train him, and humble him to become the instrument He wants him to become for a use in His Kingdom.

Having spent thirteen years to put together words God gave him into reggae gospel music made him pioneer in Reggae Gospel in Europe. Putting together this album titled- ONLY MOST HIGH – according him wasn’t an easy task at all but he managed to pull through with the strength of God.

However, before h became born again, he released two singles in 1993 and 1994 entitled ‘‘Check your body’’ and ‘‘my trip’’, recorded in the Mixz studio in Antwerp and SC Records in Brussels respectively.
Consequently, the presence of God in his life still made use of his talent but rather changed his lyrics to spread the word of God to his generation and the ones to come after.
